Empuriabrava, Spain

Empuriabrava is a beautiful picturesque town and calls itself ‘the largest residental marina in the world’, an area with even more waterways than Venice. It has an immense number of canals, where boat owners have their own private moorings in front of their house, and is home of the largest skydiving centre in Europe. Where over 100,000 skydive’s are made every year.

The town itself other than being a residential marina has a wide number of beach bars, nightclubs, quality fish food restaurants and a large number of water sport activities to participate in e.g. scuba diving, free-diving, kite surfing, fishing, when are not skydiving of course. Or after we finish jumping we could take you cliff jumping, and have beach bbq’s.

It is located in the ‘Bay of Roses’ where the beach stretches out for miles. Empuriabrava is famous in skydiving for this picturesque bay and town, from above it truly is amazing. Other than having great beaches it’s also located in the foothills of the Pyrennes, where you see beautiful views in the summer months with spectacular sunsets over this amazing mountain range. In winter these Mountains are capped in snow giving you the opportunity to go skiing, only 90 minutes away.

Nearby are many typical Spanish villages and towns, best being ‘Figueres’ which is famous for the ‘Dali Museum’ where you can admire Salvador Dali’s work.

A must to visit is the small seaside fishing village of ‘Cadaques’, a beautiful seaside village located in the ‘Cap de Creus’ national park. Cap de Creus is the most easterly point of the Iberian Peninsula, and at the northern end of the Costa Brava. Where the Pyrennes tumble into the Mediterranean at this rocky peninsula. It is these strange and sculpted rocks that inspired so many of Salvador Dalí’s paintings.

Getting There

Ryaniar direct to Girona(45minutes away). Coach service available at airport to Empuria. Train and taxi services also, all this can be arranged with us.

Ryanair direct to Perpignan. (1 hour away).

All major airlines fly straight into Barcelona (90minutes away) including easyjet and Iberia.

Train services from Barcelona or Girona possible direct to Figueres, then a small bus ride or taxi is possible.

Car Hire also available at all airports.

A wide array of hotels in town for all tastes and budgets, closest being is ‘Castell Blanc’ hotel at 30€ a night(with skydiver discount) with breakfast. Camping is also available in town, and RV hook up on the drop zone.
